Turtle Beach Ear Force X31 RF Review

The Ear Force X31 is a third generation wireless computer gaming headset for the XBOX 360. Like the X3, the X31 combines XBOX live chat with wireless game sound so you can hear the game sound and the voices of other players in the headset. It replaces your XBOX communicator headset and external speakers.

Hearing the XBOX Live chat in the center of your head rather than in one ear means communicating better online.

By eliminating speakers the game volume can be turned up without disturbing others. Sound quality is improved with new 40mm speakers that use the same design as the Ear Force high-quality X41 50mm speakers for better frequency response and improved clarity in the game sound. Inside the gaming headset is a digital signal processor for bass boost and stereo expander effects, which can be turned on by pressing a button. These headphones are awesome. Very easy to setup – Setup time is under 5 minutes. I have my PS3 hooked up using an HDMI cable and unlike other headphones out there, you dont need to screw around with your HDMI setup or use extra cables. I must admit I was a bit put off by the price of this gaming headset and the lack of features. Other PC headsets such as the Logitech G35 and Senn’s PC350 were priced more but came with more features and of course, a bigger brand name. But when it comes down to gaming and listening to music, you aren’t really asking for a lot. The Razer Carcharias delivers what one would need to enjoy listening to music, and of course, long comfortable gaming sessions.
